We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Auditor to join our team. As a Senior IT Auditor, you will be responsible for developing audit plans, strategies, and other planning documents, as well as performing all audit procedures and testing. You will prepare audit documentation, document findings and recommended corrective actions, and prepare audit reports in accordance with GAGAS (Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards) and other requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop audit plans, audit strategies, and other planning documents in alignment with Chapter 8 of Government Auditing Standards (GAS)
- Prepare, request, discuss, and follow up on auditee listings and requests
- Perform all necessary audit procedures and testing
- Prepare comprehensive audit documentation, including evidence of audit procedures performed, results obtained, and supporting documentation
- Document audit findings, including statements of the condition, criteria, cause, effect, and recommendations for corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with the standards established by the Comptroller General for work performed by non-Federal auditors
- Provide documentation to RRB OIG (Office of the Inspector General) according to the Deliverables and SOW (Statement of Work) Task Delivery Schedule
- Conduct kickoff meetings with the RRB OIG contract monitoring team to ensure project understanding and discuss the preliminary audit approach
- Plan the performance audit based on approved audit objectives, scope, and methodology, making necessary refinements or adjustments as work progresses
- Prepare and submit audit plans and strategies for RRB OIG’s review and approval, addressing all required tasks
- Develop sampling plans and obtain RRB OIG approval before conducting sample testing
- Coordinate and schedule key meetings and testing with RRB, ensuring timely update of audit documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Accounting, or Auditing
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification preferred
- Strong understanding of Government Auditing Standards (GAS) and audit methodologies
- Extensive experience in developing audit plans, strategies, and documentation
- Proficiency in conducting audit procedures and testing, documenting findings, and preparing comprehensive audit reports
- Knowledge of sampling techniques and experience in obtaining approval for sampling plans
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate audit findings and recommendations
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively coordinate meetings and discussions with auditee officials
- Proficiency in using standard Adobe PDF and Microsoft Office products or TeamMate for audit documentation
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
